Calvià is located next to Marbella, Benahavís and Estepona in Málaga, and Madrid, as one of the favorite destinations for foreigners who want to buy a luxury home in Spain, according to data from idealista.

The municipality, located in southwest Mallorca, has for years established itself as one of the Mediterranean’s leading luxury residential markets. Areas such as Puerto Portals, Bendinat, Costa d’en Blanes, Santa Ponça, and Port Adriano are home to some of the island’s most exclusive properties, a segment driven by international buyers seeking a second home or looking to relocate their primary residence, attracted by the climate, safety, international air connections, and a lifestyle centered on the sea, sailing, golf, and a wide range of dining and leisure options.

Mallorca has become one of Europe’s most sought-after destinations for luxury property purchases. The limited availability of land by the sea, high international demand, and the island’s established reputation as a luxury destination have contributed to maintaining the strength of this market, even in a context of high interest rates. Additionally, foreign buyers continue to play a decisive role in the high-end segment, especially in municipalities like Calvià, where multi-million euro transactions are common.

In the case of this Mallorcan municipality, it is the preferred destination for Germans (who represent 49 percent of the foreign demand for properties over three million euros), followed by the British (9 percent) and the Swedes (6 percent). The strong German presence is due to a long-standing connection with Mallorca, where Germans have been one of the main groups of residents and investors for decades, especially in the southwest of the island.

In the ultra-luxury segment, 53 percent of properties in Calvià cost between three and five million euros, while 35 percent of the market is in the five to ten million euro range. The remaining 12% falls into the 10 to 20 million euro range, reflecting an increasingly buyer-oriented market with high net worth and the growing presence of exceptional properties with sea views, access to marinas, or prime locations.
