Ibiza is a favorite vacation destination for many people. The White Isle offers a wide variety of cultural activities, events and parties, stunning landscapes, and a culinary scene that makes it a truly magical place.
One of these legendary spots is Bar Anita, one of Tapas Magazine’s favorite bars in Ibiza, which we have covered extensively in both our Bar Guide and our special Ibiza issue.
Now, the luxury brand Louis Vuitton has set its sights on this very special place and included it in a collection of eight books about different European cities, perfect for enjoying a summer in the Mediterranean. Its pages offer a series of suggestions on what to do on the Balearic island, covering every corner of it. And this is where we find the ‘hippie’ bar as a featured stop.
Can n’Anneta by the town of Ibiza
Located in the village of San Carlos, Bar Anita is a classic. This Ibiza institution started as a small shop until a woman named Anita took over the place and opened this bar in the 1960s. At that time, Ibiza was experiencing a cultural revolution, and hippies dominated the scene. In addition to being a bar, it served as the town’s post office, which made it a meeting point for both residents and visitors to the island. From then on, Can n’Anneta became a landmark.
Ana Marí Torres, or Anita, as she was better known, died this year, but the bar continues to preserve her spirit and legacy, transporting everyone who visits it to the Ibiza of that era.
A simple letter
As for the food offered, it’s simple but very varied. They have everything, from a wide selection of salads to pasta and pizza, small plates, meat and fish dishes, and a range of desserts that add a sweet touch to the menu. It’s also a fantastic place to go for breakfast, with a breakfast menu offering a wide and delicious range of options.
But you can’t leave without tasting Ibiza’s traditional herbal liqueurs, made using traditional methods.
Take note for your next visit to the island!
