Portugal’s elimination from the 2026 World Cup at the hands of Spain in the round of 16 was a tough blow for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is recovering during a vacation that has already made several headlines. As they do practically every year, the soccer player, his fiancée Georgina Rodríguez, and his family have sought refuge in the Balearic Islands. This year, specifically, they’ve chosen Mallorca, where they traveled by private jet.
Once on the island, his destination could be none other than his Azimut Grande 27 Metri, his very own luxury bunker, christened “CG Mare” (in honor of Cristiano and Georgina). It is an Azimut Grande 27M, a model built by the prestigious Italian shipyard Azimut Yachts that the striker purchased in 2020 for a price of around 6.6 million euros. However, the final bill is said to have increased considerably due to the numerous customizations made to the yacht.
Sporty styles and Italian luxury
With a length of 26.78 meters, the Grande 27M stands out for its design that combines sportiness, elegance, and functionality. Its silhouette, designed by Stefano Righini, is characterized by large glass surfaces and several terraces distributed across the different decks, designed to maximize natural light and the connection to the sea.
On the upper deck, the flybridge offers a spacious lounge area with a sun deck, an outdoor dining area, and a space designed for a galley or outdoor bar, making it one of the most sought-after areas on the yacht while underway.
The interior, designed by Italian architect Achille Salvagni, features a contemporary and refined aesthetic. High-quality materials, light tones, and furniture with soft lines create a bright and welcoming atmosphere, free from ostentation. The centerpiece is the owner’s suite, located on the main deck and designed to span the entire beam of the yacht. Its large windows, spacious walk-in closet, and custom finishes make this suite the heart of the yacht.
Despite its size, the Grande 27M offers performance on par with that of a high-performance yacht. It is equipped with two MAN R V12 engines, each producing 1,900 caballos, for a combined output of 3,800 CV, allowing it to reach a top speed of up to 28 knots.
Its fuel tank, with a capacity of 9,500 liters, is designed to handle long-distance voyages, while the main helm station is complemented by another one located on the flybridge, facilitating maneuvering in various sailing conditions.
In its construction, Azimut uses Carbon Tech technology, which incorporates carbon fiber into the superstructure and other structural elements to reduce the boat’s weight without compromising rigidity or comfort. The hull, meanwhile, is made of reinforced fiberglass, a combination that helps improve the yacht’s efficiency, stability, and performance at sea.
