A prophet in his own land—and no one can deny it. Daniel Heredia, known internationally as Rels B, will return to Mallorca on September 11 to headline a free concert in Palma in celebration of Mallorca Day and his appointment as the island’s Favorite Son. It will be a grand homecoming for the singer, who will share in the celebrations with all Mallorcans and the rest of the Balearic Islands—an invitation Rels B himself extended via social media.

The Mallorcan artist will perform at 9:30 p.m. on a stage located between Parc de la Mar and the Paseo Marítimo in the Balearic capital. The show, organized by the Consell de Mallorca, aims to become one of the major cultural events of the institutional celebration.

Rels B himself has been promoting the concert on his social media, where he confirmed that it will be “completely free until capacity is reached.” The artist has also extended an invitation to “the neighboring islands” to share a particularly symbolic moment with the audience: his recognition as an Honorary Son of Mallorca. The event also comes at a time when the artist is enjoying the height of his fame. The Consell de Mallorca has linked the concert to the celebration of Mallorca Day and has highlighted the cultural significance and international representation that Heredia’s career has come to embody.

“It’s a celebration for all Mallorcans, and we want the public to be able to experience and enjoy it in the streets, with culture, music, and an artist who is a source of pride for our island, said the island’s president, Llorenç Galmés.

“Rels B has carried the name of Mallorca around the world and is a magnificent ambassador for our island. The fact that he wants to return to Mallorca to celebrate the Diada with all of us and share with the people here such a special moment as being named an Honorary Son is an opportunity for the entire island to come together and celebrate this source of pride,” he emphasized.

From Mallorca to the International Stage

The official recognition will take place on September 12, one day after the concert. On that day, Rels B will be honored as a Favorite Son of Mallorca—one of the highest honors bestowed by the Consell de Mallorca—after wrapping up the “most special” year of his career.

Heredia’s career reflects the journey of an artist born in Mallorca who has become a figure of international renown. He is the most-listened-to Spanish artist outside of Spain and has become “a symbol of his homeland around the world.” His Mallorcan identity also plays a central role in his artistic vision. In his concerts, he champions “La Isla”—the title of one of his most successful albums—while Mallorca emerges as one of the major themes in his songs and personal narrative.

His connection to the island has also led to some of the most significant moments of his recent career. In 2025, Rels B reserved one of the most special concerts of his A New Star World Tour for his hometown: a performance at Son Moix that drew tens of thousands of people and marked his first stadium concert in Spain. The tour would conclude months later on an even grander scale. Last July, the artist capped off the A New Star World Tour with the biggest concert of his career to date, held at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.

Now, Rels B is back where it all began. Mallorca will once again serve as the setting, this time to celebrate the Diada alongside thousands of people and to honor an achievement that encapsulates an essential part of his history: that of an artist who has made his Mallorcan roots one of the hallmarks of his international career.
