This summer, the Rafa Nadal Academy will host the eighth edition of the Rafa Nadal Open by Movistar, an ATP Challenger Tour tournament that will take place from August 31 to September 6 on the Academy’s hard courts in Manacor.

Since its inaugural edition in 2018, the tournament has established itself as a fixture on the Challenger calendar, bringing together both seasoned professional players and young tennis players who are still developing their skills.

Rafa Nadal, the driving force behind the event, has highlighted the role the tournament plays in the Academy’s activities and its connection to Mallorca: “The Rafa Nadal Open is a very special week for all of us. It allows us to bring professional tennis to Mallorca and offer the players an environment where they can compete at the highest level. Over the years, we have been fortunate to host great tennis players and to see many young players take important steps in their careers here. We are very proud of how the tournament has developed and will continue working to ensure that each edition is even better than the last.”

During tournament week, spectators will be able to follow the main draw matches up close and meet some of the players who represent the present and future of the professional circuit. In its seven previous editions, the tournament has featured players such as Carlos Alcaraz, Andy Murray, Marin Cilic, Fernando Verdasco, and Pablo Andújar, among others.

The 2025 edition also marked a milestone for the Rafa Nadal Academy, with the victory of Daniel Rincón, the first player trained at the Academy to win the title in Manacor. The tournament’s winners list includes Bernard Tomic (2018), Emil Ruusuvuori (2019), Lukas Lacko (2021), Luca Nardi (2022), Hamad Medjedovic (2023), and Duje Ajduković (2024).

In addition to the sporting competition, the tournament will feature a program of complementary events, including culinary experiences, musical performances, and family activities. Additionally, anyone who downloads their tournament ticket can visit the recently renovated Rafa Nadal Museum for a special price of 14 euros.

As in previous years, tickets to attend the tournament will be free and can be downloaded from the event’s official website. The Rafa Nadal Open by Movistar is part of the Rafa Nadal Academy’s commitment to organizing international competitions and developing players on the professional circuit.
