Grant Thornton, a specialist advisory services firm, through its mergers and acquisitions and transactions team, has advised the shareholders of private aviation brands Ibizair SL and Mallorcair SL on the sale of both companies to United Aviation Services, a company that is part of the Stellair Group. According to a press release, with this transaction, the Stellair Group acquires two companies specializing in ground handling and FBO operations for business aviation at the airports of Ibiza and Palma. Both companies provide services to private aircraft operators and owners.
With this acquisition, United Aviation Services expands its presence in the Spanish market and strengthens its ability to offer corporate aviation services in strategic destinations characterized by high levels of tourism and business activity.
The transaction, which has already been approved by the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC), is part of Stellair Group’s growth strategy, which aims to consolidate a high-quality service network for international operators and private clients in key markets.
Grant Thornton supported the shareholders throughout the transaction, providing strategic and financial advice at various stages of the operation and acting as the exclusive advisor to the sellers.
Mallorcair, founded in 1991, operates from Palma Airport, where it offers ground handling services and manages its own FBO within the general aviation terminal, with facilities for both passengers and crew.
For its part, Ibizair has more than three decades of experience at Ibiza Airport, where it offers handling and FBO management services for private and executive aircraft, as well as passenger and crew assistance, flight coordination, catering, customs and immigration services, and personalized service.
Therefore, both companies have a strong presence in two of the leading business aviation destinations in the Balearic Islands.
