The Government of the Balearic Islands has taken another step in its commitment to the internationalization of the islands’ business sector with the launch of a digital platform designed to support companies in entering foreign markets. The initiative, promoted by the Regional Ministry of Business, Self-Employed, and Energy, aims to become a single gateway to public resources that support exports and international growth.

The new website has been created with the goal of simplifying a process that, for many small and medium-sized businesses, can be complex and full of uncertainties. Through this portal, Balearic companies have a centralized point of contact from which they can access specialized and personalized advice, as well as the various support tools offered by the Regional Ministry itself, the chambers of commerce on the different islands, and the regional office of ICEX.

In addition to facilitating access to international markets, the regional government aims to expand the export base of the Balearic Islands, diversify the sectors that have traditionally been at the forefront of exports, and open up new opportunities in emerging markets where the islands’ products and services can find new avenues for growth.

The results of the policies implemented in recent years show an upward trend. The number of companies benefiting from internationalization grants has doubled, reaching 207 companies over the last two fiscal years. At the same time, the regional government has allocated more than 2.7 million euros to initiatives such as participation in international trade fairs, the development of foreign expansion plans, and the creation of digital marketing strategies aimed at conquering new markets.

The fashion, agri-food, and nautical sectors are among the most active in applying for this financing, confirming the growing interest of Balearic companies in expanding their operations beyond the archipelago’s borders.

The platform offers users various points of contact to receive specialized information and support in all phases of the internationalization process. It also gathers information on support programs such as Ibexporta, managed by ADRBalears; Xpande Digital, promoted by the Mallorca Chamber of Commerce; and ICEX Next – initiatives designed to help companies define solid strategies that minimize risks and maximize the opportunities offered by the global economy.

With this new tool, the regional government aims to build a bridge between the business talent of the Balearic Islands and international markets, boosting the competitiveness of the islands’ companies and helping their products and services navigate global trade routes with greater momentum.
