SpainMedia, the publisher of Forbes in Spain, and mallorcadiario have signed a strategic, editorial, and operational alliance to coordinate joint initiatives in the Balearic Islands.
The agreement combines the reputation and international reach of the Forbes brand with the experience, the expertise, brand, and business profile of SpainMedia, along with mallorcadiario’s local knowledge and close ties to the community, with the common goal of improving economic and business news coverage in the Balearic Islands and promoting its key economic sectors.
The collaboration involves organizing business meetings, sector-specific forums, interviews, specialized content, and discussion platforms on the archipelago’s economic future.
Among the first operational measures is the integration of the Forbes Baleares team – the Forbes section dedicated to the economic, social, and cultural news of the islands – into the mallorcadiario.com headquarters in Palma, with the aim of fostering coordinated efforts to support content production. There are also plans for content to be shared between both media outlets through cross-platform news modules or other formats.
The teams from the two media organizations have also developed a program that includes organizing major events in the Islands, as well as jointly compiling the prestigious Forbes lists and rankings for the Balearic Islands.
The partnership between the two media organizations aims to promote the Forbes brand in the Balearic Islands, create new platforms for news, analysis, and interaction among business leaders, professionals, investors, and institutions, while highlighting the talent of the Balearic Islands.
Both parties have noted that this strategic agreement provides a framework of mutual benefits that will have a significant impact on the islands’ media landscape.
The CEO of SpainMedia, Ignacio Quintana, stated that “this strategic alliance combines the ability of Forbes and SpainMedia to amplify stories, brands, and opportunities, along with our experience in the lifestyle sector, with the deep knowledge of the region and the connection to life in the Balearic Islands that mallorcadiario has. This combination of strengths will allow us to showcase the talent, business community, and lifestyle of the islands, reaching a much wider audience.”
For his part, José María Castro, editor and director of mallorcadiario.com, highlighted that for Mallorca’s longest-running digital media outlet, this collaboration represents “a boost for our reputation and market position by partnering with an international brand of Forbes’ caliber.” “We want to consolidate ourselves as a go-to source of information for the business and institutional communities of the Balearic Islands, linking local events with the national and international spheres, while leaving the door open to expand this collaboration in the future,” he said.
