Fall in Ibiza has begun with a program packed with art exhibitions and shows in a wide variety of styles, building on a summer that featured hundreds of contemporary art exhibitions in all formats, styles, and forms of expression. Art once again permeates the ‘White Isle,’ reaffirming itself as a defining feature from which this place has never been able to detach itself.
Photographer Joan Costa has simultaneously opened two exhibitions at Es Polvorí and the Refectory of the Ibiza City Hall, under the title Miradas Perdidas. Through 49 works, she portrays architecture from unprecedented angles, as well as the everyday scenes and landscapes of Dalt Vila and other locations, with remarkable skill and a distinctive personal style in black and white.
The artist opts for analog photography and explains their choice: “In contrast to the color saturation that overwhelms us with new technologies, cell phones, and graphic reproduction formats on the market, black and white brings a sense of clarity and greater depth to my work, as well as highlighting the architectural angles and the atmosphere of the places and the people who inhabit them.”
The Iranian painter Elisabeth Louy successfully presented her new and original work, Miratges Reales, at the Lighthouse of the White Caves of Sant Antoni. It is a collection of mirrors bearing messages that invite the viewer to discover, through the engravings, the secrets hidden within the imaginary world they reflect.

For his part, New York–based photographer and sculptor Victor Spinelli presented a daring photographic exhibition at Studio 55 gallery, focusing on the events and parties of the 1980s and ’90s tied to the legendary Manumission party. He also released an intriguing illustrated book on the same subject at Soho House Farm.
Meanwhile, Espacio 1748, a former restaurant in Dalt Vila, has been transformed into a pop-up conceptual art gallery, showcasing large-format works by various artists who explore different facets of artistic creation. The ‘Sventhy Finissage’ exhibition, curated by Adriana Dali Peretova, brought together 70 works by 12 artists from four continents in this magnificent space, located in the old town of Dalt Vila, right in the heart of the World Heritage site.
Finally, the Mondrian Hotel in Cala Llonga hosted a large group exhibition of photography, painting, contemporary sculpture, and digital art titled ‘Lotus Art in Motion‘. Twenty-one artists from 15 countries participated, contributing a total of 63 works. Domenico Formechetti, one of the participating artists, unveiled his latest work for the first time during the event’s cocktail reception, which was attended by nearly 2,000 guests. The event brought together artists of the caliber of Sarah Main, Jordi Gómez, Lela Radulovic, Alex Jenkins, Jordi Gómez, Lauren Baker, Andrea Bonaceto, Joan Mas, Mario Belem, Sergio Preciado, and Victor Spinelli.
