The Ibiza Yacht Club is putting the finishing touches on preparations for the 37th Pitiusas Sailing Regatta, which will take place from October 8 to 11, 2026, in the waters around Ibiza and Formentera. The regatta, open only to ORC cruising yachts, will bring together crews from various locations for three days of competition connecting Ibiza, Formentera, and Sant Antoni de Portmany.
The event will feature a comprehensive sports, technical, and logistical operation, comprising the land and sea teams of the Ibiza Yacht Club, the race committee, judges, measurers, buoy setters, safety boats, and support staff.
The Pitiusas Sailing Days are the evolution of the Vuelta a Ibiza y Formentera Regatta, linked to the Jabeque de Oro and Jabeque de Plata trophies, whose origins date back to 1974. Since 1989, the competition has retained its current format and name, combining cruising sailing with a social program for the crews.
The event will begin on Thursday, October 8, at Marina Ibiza, with the opening of the race office, participant registration, and the skippers’ meeting, scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The competition will kick off on Friday, October 9, at 10:00 a.m. with the first leg, covering approximately 29 nautical miles between Ibiza and Formentera.
On Saturday, the 10th, the second stage—covering about 38.8 miles—will take place between the waters near Espardell and Espalmador and the bay of Sant Antoni. The third and final leg will take place on Sunday, the 11th, covering a distance of approximately 18.2 miles between Sant Antoni and Ibiza.
The final awards ceremony will take place that same Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the Calma Restaurant in Marina Ibiza.
Insotel, Trasmapi, and Marina Ibiza are the main sponsors of this year’s event, while the Consell d’Eivissa and the Ajuntament d’Eivissa are providing institutional support. Marina de La Savina, in Formentera, and the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni are also collaborating as ports of call during the competition.
