The members of the Ibiza and Formentera Gastronomic Academy have unanimously decided to award the 2025 Formentera awards to chef Nandu Jubany and the restaurants Vogamarí and 190 Pasos. The fifth edition of these awards recognizes the careers of the honorees, their commitment to local products, and their promotion of the culinary traditions of the island and the Mediterranean.

Nandu Jubany receives the award for his work in the kitchen and his role as an entrepreneur. The chef has four restaurants in Formentera — Can Carlitos, Es Còdol Foradat, Pecador Formentera, and Agua Aire — which make up his unique culinary world on the island.

Jubany is inspired by traditional Catalan and Mediterranean recipes, drawing on its culinary roots as a source of inspiration and combining them with contemporary approaches. The result is a style of cooking that celebrates tradition through a modern interpretation and the use of high-quality ingredients.

The Vogamarí restaurant has been recognized for its commitment to keeping the traditional cuisine of Formentera and the Mediterranean alive. The restaurant is known for its use of fresh, high-quality ingredients and has established itself as one of the premier places to enjoy the island’s cuisine. Its chef, Toni Mayans, combines creativity and tradition through a cooking style closely linked to the sea and its products.

For its part, the restaurant 190 Pasos, which opened four seasons ago, is being recognized for demonstrating that it is possible to develop a creative cuisine that merges with other culinary traditions, with a simple and youthful approach centered on the guest’s enjoyment. Its concept focuses on local, top-quality ingredients, with a cooking style based on technique and simplicity.

The awards ceremony will take place next Sunday, September 27, at Hannah’s restaurant.
