Sol Cala Saona is one of 25 tapas bars selected for the ‘Best Chiringuitos 2026’ list and offers a very special experience, where the ingredients take center stage. Its menu offers a wide variety of dishes, from cold starters like ‘La Rusa,‘ a Russian salad available with bluefin tuna, white shrimp, or white shrimp and caviar. Hot dishes include grilled lettuce hearts with anchovies and Caesar dressing, or the almadraba steak; and, depending on what’s available at the market, you can try the tellinas in green sauce or grilled tellinas de gla. Here, grilling is one of the most common techniques for cooking meat, like Iberian ‘secreto,’ and fish, like fresh grilled fish from Formentera.
But one of its specialties is undoubtedly the rice dishes. There are many different ways to prepare them, and there is also the option of making them with noodles, such as black rice, Angus rib, bimi and mushrooms, or ‘arroz ciego’ and ‘senyoret‘. We mustn’t forget the rice a la plancha, which can be made with lobster, sea urchins, or carabiner shrimp, among other things.
