There are businesses that end up becoming part of a destination’s landscape. Not just for the space they occupy, but for the memories they hold and the generations that pass through them. Dino Minigolf has been one of them. After more than three decades on Platja de Palma, the venue will close its doors on Sunday, October 25, bringing an end to a story closely linked to family entertainment and Mallorca’s tourist offerings.
The decision marks the end of an era for Amrum Beach Club, S.L., the company responsible for the establishment, which will proceed with its closure in accordance with the municipal resolution terminating the concession and providing for the site’s recovery by the Palma City Council. The formal handover of the keys will take place on Tuesday, October 27.
The outcome is already clear, however, with one matter still pending. The company has an appeal pending before the Administrative Court, requesting an extension of the concession, linked to the period during which operations had to be suspended due to the measures adopted during the health crisis. As of today, the court has not yet ruled on this request.
Despite this, the Amrum Beach Club has decided to proceed with the closure without waiting for the court’s ruling, in compliance with the local authority’s decision and without waiving its right to defend its interests in the ongoing proceedings.
Beyond the closure
Dino Minigolf’s operations are winding down, but the company has devised a solution to retain a large portion of the staff involved in the project. Most of the workforce will be hired by other companies within the business group to which it belongs, a measure designed to minimize the impact of the closure on employment.
The company will also proceed to settle outstanding invoices with its suppliers, with the goal of closing this phase while honoring its financial commitments.
For over 30 years, Dino Minigolf has offered an outdoor leisure experience right on the Palma Beach promenade, combining sports, entertainment, and landscaped areas in an environment designed to attract people of all ages.
It has solidified its reputation as one of Mallorca’s leading tourist destinations, where complementary facilities play a significant role in the experience of both residents and visitors. Instead of adopting a leisure model focused exclusively on the tourist season or a specific target audience, the establishment has developed a family-friendly concept that has attracted multiple generations.
Its closure marks the end of a well-established entertainment complex in the area and brings to a close a business story that has spanned more than three decades. A journey that, beyond its facilities, leaves a legacy of the bonds forged with those who visited it, worked there, or helped keep it running.
Amrum Beach Club would like to thank its customers for the trust they have placed in Dino Minigolf over the years, as well as its staff for their dedication and its suppliers for their support. This is a tribute to the people who have made it possible for this establishment to be part of the recent history of Palma Beach.
