Palma is gaining prominence on the insurance innovation map. InsurCEO, a brokerage specializing in business insurance, inaugurated its new headquarters in the Balearic capital on Tuesday at an event that brought together business leaders and executives from the insurance sector and was closed by Palma’s mayor, Jaime Martínez. The opening marks a new step in the company’s growth strategy and reinforces its commitment to turning the city into a hub for technological and insurance innovation capable of serving businesses throughout Spain.

InsurCEO’s proposal is based on a premise that is becoming increasingly relevant to the business community: risk management can no longer be viewed as an isolated function, but rather as a strategic tool for protecting assets, anticipating vulnerabilities, and supporting business decisions. To address this reality, the company organizes its operations into four specialized areas: Business, focused on corporate insurance; Benefits, geared toward the protection and well-being of workforces; Marine, dedicated to the nautical sector; and Private, focused on protecting the assets of business owners and executives.

Technology and Consulting: A New Approach to Risk Management

The InsurCEO model combines the specialized knowledge of its professionals with a proprietary technology platform designed to simplify the process of purchasing and managing business insurance. Through this tool, companies can assess their needs, compare quotes from different insurers, and purchase the most appropriate coverage more efficiently, without sacrificing the support of an expert team.

Technology also serves as a driver of growth that extends beyond traditional distribution channels. The platform is designed to integrate with other digital ecosystems, ranging from business management software to solutions used by professional firms and financial institutions. The goal is to incorporate insurance offerings into the processes that companies and their customers already use, facilitating access to the necessary coverage at the right time and within their own digital operations.

This approach identifies technological integration and specialization as two central elements in the evolution of the insurance business: it is not merely a matter of selling policies, but of tailoring protection to the real-world context in which companies make their decisions.

Cybersecurity, Mergers and Acquisitions: Insurance for Critical Decisions

The inauguration of the new headquarters was accompanied by a conference examining the role of insurance in major business decisions. Titled “Insurance in Major Business Decisions,” the event brought together experts from the financial, legal, corporate, and insurance sectors to address some of the risks with the greatest impact on business operations.

The first panel discussion, “Cyber Risk: The Most Overlooked Vulnerability,” focused on the challenges posed by organizations’ digital exposure. Moderated by Javier Gausí, Senior Director at Willis Towers Watson, the discussion featured Càndid Andreu Miralles, Chief Media Officer at Arquia Banca.

The second session, “The Complexity of M&A Transactions and Insurance as a Useful Tool,” examined the value of insurance solutions in mergers and acquisitions—transactions in which the identification, assessment, and transfer of risks can be decisive. Participants included Ignacio Lacasa, managing partner at Across Legal, and Carlos Palos, CEO of W. R. Berkley Spain and Portugal. The panel was moderated by Ángel Luis Rodríguez Mendizábal, CFO of Meliá Hotels International.

The day concluded with a discussion with Manuel López, CEO of Atlantigo Group, focusing on the evolution of the insurance industry and the changes that are redefining its role in the business world.

Palma, in InsurCEO’s growth strategy

The opening of the new headquarters reflects a vision that combines customer proximity, expertise, and technological development. For InsurCEO, Palma represents a strategic location from which to strengthen its operational capacity and expand its contribution to a market in which risk management is taking on an increasingly cross-functional role.

“This new office represents a firm commitment to creating a technology and insurance hub in Palma from which we can serve companies throughout Spain—companies we want to support in their day-to-day operations and decision-making,” says Rafael Lacasa, CEO of InsurCEO.

With this opening, the company is strengthening its position in a rapidly evolving sector, where technology, expert advice, and the ability to anticipate risks are emerging as key factors in supporting companies’ growth and resilience.
