Starting this Wednesday, Carles Fabregat and Josep Vallribera bring together two different approaches to artistic creation in Ibiza. Sa Nostra Sala is hosting a joint exhibition until October 10 that blends sculpture, photography, structures, and texts to explore issues such as identity, memory, consciousness, and the individual’s relationship with the passage of time.
The exhibition, which opens at 8:00 PM, brings together a selection of sculptures by Fabregat and a multidisciplinary project by Vallribera. The opening will also feature a performance by artist Pauline Amos, as well as a visual-acousmatic piece by Paz Caplin, known artistically as Tony Moore.
The exhibition is also the result of a relationship that began years ago, following an invitation to exhibit in Ibiza. Since then, Fabregat and Vallribera have collaborated on various projects and have forged a friendship based on both a personal bond and their intellectual affinities.
In the work of Josep Vallribera, different disciplines coexist without any defined hierarchy. Photography, writing, and visual elements form part of a single language through which the artist explores questions related to consciousness, memory, and the way people interpret reality. The camera, the brush, and printed media therefore function as different tools within the same body of research.
Carles Fabregat’s work is also based on a career that spans several disciplines. In the pieces he exhibits at Sa Nostra Sala, the face occupies the center of the scene, though not simply as a portrait. His sculptures use the face to explore questions related to identity, the passage of time, and the human condition.
The joint initiative precisely aims to bring these two creative worlds closer together. “There are works that are simply observed; others, however, invite us to look at things differently, challenging established concepts and provoking a reaction that goes beyond aesthetics,” notes the island’s Director of Culture, Miquel Costa, in the text accompanying the exhibition catalog.
Costa has invited the public to visit Sa Nostra Sala and to “immerse themselves in the exhibition and enjoy this shared experience,” in a show that fosters dialogue between different artistic languages and invites visitors to view the works up close.
The Carles Fabregat – Josep Vallribera exhibition will be open to the public until October 10, 2026, at Sa Nostra Sala, located at 17 Carrer d’Aragó in Ibiza. The hours are 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
