Ruffles, flowing fabrics, lace, and long skirts are some of the most recognizable hallmarks of Ibizan fashion. A relaxed, bohemian style that has transcended the island’s borders to become a brand in its own right. Ibiza is much more than beaches, sun, and nightlife. Through flea markets, workshops, and small creative spaces, the island has built a strong tradition of craftsmanship that has shaped the history of Spanish fashion for decades.
Ariadna Ferrer de Benito, an artist, designer, and artisan, has grown up in this creative world; she is also a third-generation member of the Adlib Ibiza family, Spain’s longest-running fashion show. Raised among fabrics, dresses, and embroidery, she is part of a family tradition rooted in artisanal dressmaking that has helped keep alive one of the island’s greatest creative legacies.
Ferrer now heads KDEKOSEKOSE, a contemporary jewelry and designer fashion brand affiliated with Adlib Ibiza that champions the value of craftsmanship through a modern lens. The brand’s approach combines creative disciplines, revives traditional crafts, and focuses on signature pieces crafted using artisanal techniques, connecting Ibiza’s heritage with new forms of creation and consumption.
Its history is inextricably linked to that of Adlib. “There was a whole network of seamstresses in Ibiza—including my mother and my grandmother—who received large quantities of garments to work on various artisanal processes from home,” recalls Ferrer. Those women, often working from their own homes, were part of a craft industry that helped make Ibizan fashion an international benchmark.
In fact, designers such as Gianni Versace, Giorgio Armani, Alberta Ferretti, and Jean Paul Gaultier have admitted that they drew inspiration from the colors, shapes, and fabrics that emerged from the island. The evolution of Adlib turned Ibiza into a creative laboratory that transcended Spain’s borders and helped forge its own identity within European fashion.
Ferrer represents a new generation that seeks to carry that legacy into the future. His work has recently been recognized with his selection to participate in FAME, the program launched by the Spanish Fashion Academy and CUNEF University to strengthen the business ecosystem of fashion-related crafts. Out of a hundred candidates, only twenty-two professionals were chosen to be part of this initiative, and KDEKOSEKOSE was the only brand representing the Balearic Islands.
This selection marks a new milestone for a designer who champions craftsmanship as a form of innovation and who works to demonstrate that traditional trades still have a place in contemporary fashion.
