The Sasga Menorquín 48 FB from Sasga Yachts is a family-friendly vessel, a Mediterranean classic that has proven its ability to adapt to its surroundings and is capable of sailing in both calm waters and rougher conditions. These are just some of the reasons why it won the European Powerboat of the Year award in the category for boats up to 18 meters in length.
The Sasga Menorquín 48 FB bridges the gap between the 42-foot and 55-foot models
It is a proven design, featuring a semi-displacement hull capable of reaching 22 knots, although it performs best at 12 or 14 knots, allowing for longer cruising ranges. The key to this design and its excellent performance lies in the construction carried out by the Sasga shipyard on the island of Menorca, where every fiberglass component—including the hull and deck—is manufactured using infusion molding. This results in a stiffer and lighter structure. It is a design with classic aesthetics, yet conceived with very modern criteria.

Íñigo Toledo’s Madrid-based studio hasn’t stopped at just the design lines: home automation can control every space inside the building.
The Menorquín 48 FB serves as the natural bridge between the 42-foot and 55-foot models, offering its loyal customer base a seamless transition to a longer boat.
The 48 FB draws on the best of both worlds and forges its own identity—for example, with a flybridge more typical of larger yachts, which significantly expands the outdoor space and transforms it into a true living area: as long as the fridge is stocked and someone tends to the grill, there’s no need to go below. In addition to the helm station, with unbeatable visibility, guests can choose between the table or the sun deck. Also on deck, both at the bow and stern, the outdoor options vary depending on whether we’re underway or at anchor.
Inside, the quality of the wood and the layout of the three cabins reveal the boat’s clear cruising focus, but the finishes go a step further and strike an excellent balance between quality and durability. When ordering the boat, an important decision must be made: whether to place the galley in the saloon or on the lower deck, in the area connecting the cabins. The boat we sailed on, departing from the port of Mahón (Menorca), was configured with the galley below, and this solution is quite interesting because it creates a double-height interior that floods this space with light; as a result, the main salon gains even more spaciousness and comfort.

Under way, we managed to exceed 22 knots slightly, with the engines operating comfortably—in this case, they were configured to their maximum capacity: two 480-hp Volvo Penta D6 engines, with a shaft line and V-drive transmission to free up space in the aft cabins.
The Sasga Menorquín 48 FB is, in short, a boat designed for long, leisurely cruises in the Mediterranean or on many other seas.
