Mandarin Oriental will open its first hotel in Mallorca on June 1

On June 1, 2026, Mandarin Oriental will open its first property in Mallorca, the Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, located in the municipality of Calvià, near Puerto Portals. The resort will offer views of the Mediterranean in a natural setting characterized by pine forests and a rugged coastline.

The new hotel will feature 131 rooms and suites, as well as several restaurants and bars, recreational facilities, wellness areas, and a range of guest experiences. The resort’s contemporary design blends seamlessly with the landscape, featuring gardens, ocean views, and direct access to two coves.

The property will feature 26 suites, nine standalone cottages—including four suites and five guest rooms—as well as 13 guest rooms and suites with private pools and five rooftop suites with pools. The project incorporates elements of local architecture, such as the use of stone, and a design scheme based on neutral tones and natural materials.

Art is an integral part of the hotel’s design, with works by local and international artists displayed throughout both the common areas and the outdoor spaces.

In terms of dining, the resort will feature six distinct venues. These include Matsuhisa, by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, specializing in Nikkei cuisine; Leña, by chef Dani García, focused on meat dishes; and Jacinta, serving Mexican-inspired fare. The lineup is rounded out by Leppoc, serving Mediterranean and Levantine cuisine; Sobretaula, dedicated to tapas; and Thalos, a poolside bar featuring Greek-inspired dishes.

The wellness area will feature a spa with nine treatment rooms, an indoor pool, and various facilities such as steam rooms, whirlpools, and relaxation areas. There will also be two outdoor pools for adults, a children’s pool, and a fitness center.

Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra will be the group’s third hotel in Spain and its first in the Balearic Islands. The resort comprises five buildings inspired by the island’s natural and cultural surroundings, with the aim of blending architecture, landscape, and hotel amenities into a single space.
