The Mediterranean Offshore Sailing Series announces its schedule: the Mil Millas is back, and the Ruta de la Sal is changing ports

Enregata has already unveiled its 2027 calendar, featuring five offshore races between March and November. Among the new additions are the return of a historic race and a Ruta de la Sal with a new starting point. Next season will connect some of the Mediterranean’s top sailing destinations. And these are the dates we should mark on our calendars.

2026/2027 Regatta Schedule

October 29–November 1: Golden Cup Badalona

March 25–27: The Salt Route to Ibiza

May 14 and 15: Pollença Bay Regatta

June 4 and 5: The Tramuntana Route

July 3: Mil Millas

The Mil Millas Sets Sail Once Again

The big news of the year is the return of the Mil Millas, which will hold its seventh edition starting on July 3, 2027, with the start and finish at Barcelona’s Port Olímpic. It returns to its original route—approximately 1,000 nautical miles around Sardinia, passing through Menorca—one of the greatest challenges in offshore sailing in the Mediterranean.

The race is supported by Port Olímpic and the Fundació Barcelona Capital Nàutica, which is joining as a co-organizer, and with the collaboration of Base Mini Barcelona. The race is also open to Mini 6.50s and multihulls, and retains the full crew, two-person, and solo categories. It will also count toward the Mini Transat.

The Salt Route Seeks a New Direction

The 39th edition of La Ruta de la Sal Rumbo Ibiza will be held during Holy Week, with the start scheduled for Thursday, March 25, 2027. There will be a significant change to the southern route. After 36 years of setting sail from the Real Club Náutico Dénia, planned construction work at the club’s facilities will prevent it from hosting the start.

Enregata is finalizing details with the port operators in Valencia regarding the new starting point. Among the options being considered is a route that would leave Formentera and Ibiza on the port side and add about thirty miles to the traditional distance, thereby matching the Barcelona version. The port of departure and the final route will be announced in late November, with the publication of the Notice of Race.

The Ruta de la Sal introduces another new feature: a team competition designed to give participating yacht clubs and marinas a more prominent role. Teams will be ranked based on the results of their three best boats. The 2027 edition will also continue to feature the Micro Ruta de la Sal, an offshore competition for autonomous, unmanned vessels, organized in collaboration with university teams and educational institutions.

Pollença, Roses, and Badalona round out the season

On May 14 and 15, the 29th Bahía de Pollença Regatta will once again connect Port Ginesta with the Real Club Nàutic Port de Pollença on a 104-nautical-mile course that includes a passage around Cape Formentor.

A few weeks later, on June 4 and 5, La Ruta de la Tramuntana will hold its 34th edition, starting at Club Nàutic El Balís and finishing in Roses. Once again, the race will take place along the Costa Brava, where the tramontana wind adds an extra element of strategy and excitement.

The season will conclude between late October and early November with the 9th Golden Cup Badalona, held at Marina Badalona and co-organized with Club Vela Badalona. Before that, the eighth edition will kick off on October 30, 2026.
