Engine Test | Kumbra 43, Hidden Power

The Kumbra 43 is a high-end walkaround with a strong sporting character and a clear focus on the outdoors. With a total length of 13.35 meters, including the platform, and a beam of 3.99 meters, it offers the dimensions of a boat capable of combining day trips with multi-day coastal cruises.

Its design, with clean lines and a sharp bow, conveys a sense of dynamism even when at rest, while its B-class design and certified capacity for 14 people underscore its versatility. The 0.80-meter draft also makes it easier to approach anchorages and harbors with shallow water, an important feature in a boat designed for enjoying the coastline.

The version equipped with three 300-hp outboard motors has a total installed power of 900 hp. This power setup aligns with the Kumbra 43’s design philosophy: a fast, responsive boat with enough power in reserve to maintain a lively cruising pace even with several passengers, fuel, and supplies on board. The shipyard offers outboard configurations of up to 1,200 hp and specifies a cruising speed of 27 knots and a top speed of up to 42 knots for this model—figures that place this vessel in the segment of high-performance large dayboats. With its 1,200-liter fuel capacity, the boat offers an attractive range for traveling between ports and coves without the need for frequent refueling, depending on the speed and load.

The concept revolves around an uncluttered deck and unobstructed perimeter circulation. The walkaround layout allows for movement from bow to stern on both sides—a solution that enhances safety during maneuvers, facilitates handling mooring lines and fenders, and makes life on board more comfortable. It’s not just a stylistic choice: this continuous circulation allows the entire length of the boat to be used as recreational space, from the bow sundeck areas to the swim platform.

The swim platform is where much of the activity takes place during a day at sea. It’s the place to gather, eat, chat in the shade, or get your gear ready before heading into the water. The proximity of the swim platform creates a direct connection to the sea.

Below deck, the Kumbra 43 aims to offer a level of comfort consistent with its cruising capabilities. The layout includes two cabins, space for up to six guests, and integrated facilities, allowing the boat to comfortably accommodate overnight stays. Its 300-liter fresh water tank and 160-liter wastewater tank provide reasonable range for weekend getaways.

As a result, the versatile Kumbra 43 is ideal for family outings, trips with friends, premium nautical tourism, or day charters. It is a boat designed to reach your destination quickly, but above all, to make anchoring the centerpiece of the experience.
