Peak Human Pressure in the Balearic Islands: a 1.45% increase in July, approaching 2.1 million people

Human pressure exceeded two million people on 17 of the 31 days of July, peaking on the last day of the month.

The peak figure for the Human Pressure Index (IPH) reached nearly 2.1 million people during the month of July in the Balearic Islands, which represents an increase of 1.45 percent and 29,804 more than in the same period last year.

According to updated data published Wednesday by the Balearic Islands Statistical Institute (Ibestat), the peak figure of 2,079,618 people was recorded on July 31.

The lowest figure, of 1,911,611 people, was recorded on the first day of the month and represented a year-over-year increase of 1.87 percent, or 35,115 more people. The monthly average was 2,010,694 people, an increase of 1.55 percent, or 30,741 more people.

The number of visitors exceeded two million on 17 of the 31 days in July, while on the remaining days it remained around 1.9 million.

Majorca had an average of 1,465,854 visitors, with a high of 1,513,802 and a low of 1,401,747. Minorca, with an average of 203,172 people, fluctuated between peaks of 215,823 and lows of 185,646.

In Ibiza, the average was 308,663 people, with a high of 324,181 and a low of 292,690, and in Formentera it was 33,005, fluctuating between a high of 35,281 and a low of 31,528.
