What's New | Fairline Targa 47 Open: British Design and Premium Sportiness

The Targa 47 Open is back, reimagined to set the standard for a new generation of luxury sport cruisers.

Fairline Yachts is approaching 2026 as a pivotal year in its recent history. Following the corporate restructuring initiated last year, the British builder is consolidating its operational stability and launching a renewed product offensive led by the new Fairline Targa 47 Open. The model, officially unveiled this year, represents the natural evolution of one of the shipyard’s most iconic ranges.

The spacious seating areas and sun deck invite you to relax and enjoy life on board in complete comfort.

Fairline is accelerating its transformation ahead of 2026

The historic British firm is entering a new phase of growth following the creation of Fairline Holdco Ltd and the appointment of a new executive team focused on strengthening production, optimizing processes, and regaining commercial momentum.

The company currently employs 240 people, retaining in particular its core team of specialists in shipbuilding and ship joinery—one of the brand’s most historically renowned strengths. At the same time, Fairline has secured the future of its facilities in Oundle, near Peterborough, through a ten-year lease on a production complex of approximately 12,000 square meters, complemented by a dedicated testing and commissioning center in Ipswich.

The company also states that its order book for 2026 is already full and that it is currently working on deliveries scheduled for 2027, amid renewed confidence from distributors and shipowners.

The interior of the Targa 47 Open draws inspiration from Fairline’s latest models, such as the Squadron 58 and the Targa 40.

The Fairline Targa 47 Open takes the sport cruiser concept to the next level

The star of this new phase is the Fairline Targa 47 Open, unveiled in January and designed as a technical and aesthetic evolution of the successful Targa family.

The model retains the range’s signature visual identity, featuring flowing lines, a sleek silhouette, and a strong inspiration from the award-winning Targa 40. The exterior design, developed under the direction of Christian Gott, preserves distinctive elements such as the hull’s expansive side windows, the large curved windows in the saloon, and a panoramic windshield with a bold character.

The new Targa 47 Open has been specially designed for warm climates and Mediterranean sailing, featuring a large electric canvas sunroof that opens up approximately two-thirds of the upper deck, maximizing natural light and ventilation.

The interiors combine contemporary design, elegant materials, and a harmonious atmosphere designed to ensure maximum comfort on board.

A more functional interior that connects with the outdoors

One of the major improvements over previous generations lies in the interior layout. Fairline has introduced angled bulkheads to improve circulation on board, as well as increasing both storage capacity and kitchen space.

The main deck creates a seamless flow between the salon, cockpit area, outdoor bar, and aft sun deck, extending all the way to the hydraulic swim platform and the tender garage. The aesthetic continuity between the interior and exterior upholstery reinforces the sense of spaciousness and visual cohesion.

The deck also features finishing touches more commonly found in higher-end models, such as the new bar cabinet with grooved doors and the decorative elements integrated into the swim platform.

Fairline’s meticulous attention to detail transforms every space into an expression of functionality, sophistication, and premium craftsmanship.

Volvo IPS technology and more intuitive maneuvering

On the technical side, the Fairline Targa 47 Open features a new Glass Bridge helm station with halo-style backlit touch panels for controlling systems and lighting.

The standard engine configuration features two Volvo Penta IPS650 D6-480 units, a setup designed to combine sporty performance, efficiency, and ease of handling. As an option, the model can be equipped with Volvo Penta’s Assisted Docking system, designed to simplify docking maneuvers and navigation in tight spaces.

On the upper deck, every element has been designed to promote circulation, social interaction, and a connection with the sea.

High level of customization

The lower deck features two main cabins with different layout options. The owner can choose between a forward-facing master suite or a layout with the master cabin in a central position. The forward cabin can be configured with a double bed or a V-berth.

Customization remains one of Fairline’s key strengths. The company offers a variety of oak and walnut finishes, as well as lacquered finishes, stainless steel accents, and decorative grooved wood panels for furniture and bulkheads.

A range designed to combine sportiness and sophistication

Alongside the new Targa 47 Open, Fairline is preparing other major launches for 2026. The new Targa 47 GT will make its debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, while the upcoming Targa 58 GTO will be officially unveiled at international events such as Cannes, Southampton, and Fort Lauderdale.

The shipyard’s lineup is rounded out by established models such as the Targa 40, the Squadron 58 in the flybridge segment, and the Phantom 65, available on request for owners interested in long-distance cruising.

With this product launch, Fairline aims to strengthen its position in the international premium yacht market, drawing on a combination of British design, craftsmanship, and sporty performance.
