The ocean hides mysteries capable of disrupting life along the coast. That is the premise of Below, Netflix’s new thriller miniseries that pits a coastal town against an unknown threat: the appearance of a mysterious sea creature that strikes terror into the hearts of its residents.
The story follows a fisherman who must protect his family while trying to defend a way of life that is on the verge of disappearing. The arrival of this creature sets off a chain of events that threatens to change the lives of the townspeople forever.
Starring Josh Hartnett, Mackenzie Davis, and Charlie Heaton, the series was created by Jesse McKeown and combines suspense and horror against a maritime backdrop. Fresh off its premiere, Below joins the ranks of productions that explore the ocean’s most unsettling side and its mysteries.
