Discussions on energy, ports, tourism, innovation, and sustainability took center stage at Forbes House during the latest edition of Nautik | Maritime Sustainability, the event organized by Nautik and Forbes that brought together some of the most influential voices in the maritime and port sector on May 12 in Madrid.

Throughout the day, representatives from companies, institutions, and projects linked to the sector exchanged views on how to address the transformation currently underway in the maritime industry, which is shaped by the energy transition, evolving logistics, and the need to develop more sustainable and efficient models.

With the support of Marina Port Valencia and Denza, the event featured prominent figures such as Andrés Rodríguez, president of SpainMedia and editor of Forbes and Nautik; Jordi Carrasco, general director of ANEN; Rafael Fernández-Álava, director of Communications and External Affairs for Costa Cruises Spain and Portugal; Carlos Sanlorenzo, secretary general of Baleària; Beatriz Orejudo, CEO and Managing Director of Lantimar Group; Daniel Hernanz, Corporate Director of Business Development at Grupo Ghenova; and Patrick Reynés, CEO of Marina Port Valencia, among other attendees.

The various panel discussions provided an opportunity to address key issues for the sector’s future, ranging from the decarbonization of maritime transport to the strategic role of ports and the adaptation of coastal areas to a new economic and environmental context.

Between presentations, Forbes House has also become a space for networking and informal conversations among professionals who share a common goal: to rethink the future of the ocean through innovation, sustainability, and collaboration.
