This Thursday at 7:00 PM, the Aljub exhibition galleries at the La Misericòrdia Cultural Center will host the exhibition ‘Voids: Spaces for the Gaze’ by the artist Vicenç Mulet. The exhibition features 25 steel sculptures through which the artist explores the relationship between form, space, and matter. The exhibition will be open until September 22.

The exhibition, curated by Bàrbara Galmés, showcases the artist’s creative process, which is based on a combination of intuition, technical precision, and work with the material. The 25 sculptures that make up the exhibition explore geometry as an expressive language. The bold forms, vertical volumes, and circular or diagonal spaces generate internal tensions that invite the viewer to visually explore each piece.

The artistic concept positions emptiness as an active element in the composition, a space that the viewer completes with their gaze and that transforms the perception of volume. Vicenç Mulet (Palma, 1955) trained as an ear, nose, and throat specialist, although throughout his life he has constantly pursued his passion for sculpture.

Since retiring, this artistic dedication has found the necessary time and space to fully develop and become a sculptural practice centered on material, balance, and formal expression.
