Stoneweg Hospitality and Bain Capital have finalized the sale of the Mongibello Ibiza hotel to the Ramat Group, along with a group of private investors, in a transaction that completes the asset’s transformation process, which began in 2022. The property was acquired that year through a joint venture between the two investment firms.
Stoneweg, a global alternative investment manager based in Geneva with approximately 11,000 millones de euros in assets under management, and Bain Capital Credit, an international platform specializing in credit investments with approximately 52,000 millones de dólares under management, have since spearheaded a comprehensive repositioning of the hotel.
The strategy included a complete renovation of the property, a redefinition of its concept, and a shift toward the lifestyle segment. CBRE provided consulting services for the project.
A historic hotel in Ibiza
Located in Santa Eulària des Riu, the Mongibello Ibiza features 168 rooms, including 32 suites. Following its renovation, the hotel has adopted an identity inspired by the aesthetics and lifestyle of 1960s and 1970s Italy, offering a combination of design, dining, and cultural programming.
The property has been managed by Concept Hotel Group, which has led the hotel’s development in recent years. With the arrival of the new shareholders, the Ramat Group will continue to operate the property through this same platform.
The Ramat Group, which focuses on the development, investment, and management of projects in the hospitality, real estate, and cultural sectors, is thus strengthening its presence in the hospitality market with the addition of a property in a well-established destination like Ibiza.
