This year, the Balearic Islands have recorded 4,150 active job offers linked to the tourist season across 99 municipalities, with an average monthly salary of €2,042 – 7.6 percent more than in 2025 – according to a report by the Turijobs portal.
The labor platform has stated in a press release that Palma represents 944 vacancies, 23 percent of the total vacancies identified across the archipelago, although the demand for personnel extends to all the islands.
Among the most in-demand positions are chefs, with 388 vacancies; waiters, with 384; and room service staff, with 358 vacancies. Turijobs has also identified banquet captains, with 156 vacancies, and maintenance technicians, with 140, as jobs with particularly high demand, due to the fierce competition among companies to fill these positions.
The report also highlighted salary differences of more than €2,000 per month among different professional categories. In this regard, the chief financial officer has an average salary of €5,187 per month, followed by the chief operating officer at €4,805 and the chief sales officer at €4,062.
By island, Formentera has the highest average salary, at €2,317 per month, followed by Ibiza, at €2,240. Mallorca and Menorca fall below these figures, with average salaries of €2,019 and €2,035, respectively.
According to Turijobs, the highest salaries in the Pitiuses are linked to the prevalence of high-end tourist establishments and a greater specialization in certain professional roles.
