Niehoff Baleares and the Balearic Golf Federation have signed a collaboration agreement under which the company, specializing in designer furniture, becomes the official sponsor of the Balearic Championships. The agreement reinforces the company’s commitment to initiatives that promote sustainability, healthy lifestyles, and appreciation for the environment.
The agreement was signed at the company’s exhibition hall in Palma, in the presence of the President of the Balearic Golf Federation, Bartolomé Tous, and the General Manager of Niehoff Baleares, Álvaro Llompart. Each season, the Balearic Championships bring together players of all categories and ages. The tournament has established itself as one of the islands’ main sporting showcases.
The collaboration brings together two organizations that prioritize sustainability and responsible environmental management as key areas of focus. In recent years, the golf industry has intensified its efforts to move toward more efficient resource management and landscape conservation models, while Niehoff has based much of its brand positioning on criteria such as sustainability, responsible production, and the use of sustainably sourced raw materials.
“We feel a particular affinity for the way golf is evolving into an increasingly environmentally committed sport,” explains Álvaro Llompart. “Sustainability, respect for the landscape, and the enjoyment of nature are values that naturally align with our company’s philosophy.”
The company represents the German family business Niehoff Sitzmöbel in the Balearic Islands; the company specializes in the design and manufacture of indoor and outdoor furniture. With more than four decades of experience, the brand has established a reputation based on the quality, functionality, and durability of its products, incorporating sustainability criteria throughout its entire value chain.
Beyond the sporting aspect, the agreement also reflects a growing trend among companies seeking to link their image to initiatives related to healthy lifestyles, well-being, and a connection with the environment. In this regard, Llompart emphasizes that golf promotes “intergenerational interaction and a form of leisure associated with respect for the environment and quality of life.”
For the Balearic Golf Federation, incorporating new strategic partners is key to continuing to drive the growth of a sport that enjoys a large following in the archipelago and also plays a significant role in the sports and tourism offerings of the Balearic Islands.
Furthermore, this collaboration is part of Niehoff Baleares’ corporate social responsibility strategy, which aims to support projects with a positive social and environmental impact and to strengthen its ties with initiatives that align with the principles that define the brand’s identity. “This agreement allows us to associate our brand with an activity that promotes healthy habits, intergenerational interaction, and the enjoyment of outdoor spaces, values that are completely in line with Niehoff’s philosophy,” emphasizes Llompart.
