Mallorcan designer Nadal Cabot Rodríguez has been named the winner of Futur Adlib Nuevas Promesas 2026, the national competition for young talent that kicked off the 55th edition of the Adlib Ibiza Fashion Show. The event, held for the first time in the Plaza de Santa Gertrudis in Fruitera, brought together six finalists selected from 24 candidates and once again established itself as one of the leading platforms for promoting emerging fashion designers.
Cabot won over the jury with his collection “RECONSTRUIR(se),” inspired by Smilja Mihailovitch, a powerful, sophisticated woman considered one of the leading figures behind Adlib fashion. Drawing on this inspiration, the designer proposes a contemporary reconstruction of the female figure that preserves the essence of the creative freedom characteristic of Ibizan fashion, yet moves away from its brighter, predominantly white aesthetic. Instead, he proposes a deeper and more intense vision, built upon the duality between origin and transformation. The collection combines references to the wildest and most organic Mediterranean with elements of mystery, elegance, and strength, reinterpreting from a contemporary perspective the free spirit that defines Adlib fashion.
As the winner, he received a prize of 2,750 euros presented by María Fajarnés, the Island Council of Ibiza’s Councilor for Economic Development, Municipal Cooperation, and Human Resources. The other five finalists each received a certificate of recognition and a cash prize of 950 euros, presented by the jury president, renowned designer Charo Ruiz.
Alongside Nadal Cabot, the finalists included Claudia Alba Morán with her collection “Lienzo de Luz,” Carme Pastor Ribot with “A flor de piel,” María Francisca Roselló García with “Mar y Sal,” Belén Sendino Macua with “Learn to Breath,” and Victoria Olivia Stachura with “Joia de Cendra.” All the entries stood out for their creativity, originality, and quality of craftsmanship, making the selection of the winner a particularly difficult decision for the jury.
The panel was chaired by Charo Ruiz and also included Sergio Álvarez, director of the Spanish Fashion Academy Foundation (FAME); designers Melania Piris González and Catalina Kim of Ibiza Stones; as well as representatives from the Ibiza Island Council and the Santa Eulària des Riu City Council. The final decision was based on criteria such as creativity, inspiration, technical complexity, craftsmanship, the harmony of the collections, and their relationship to the contest’s theme.
The gala was hosted by Jaime Astrain and featured prominent figures such as Lidia Torrent and Fiona Ferrer in the front row. In addition to the finalist collections, the audience was treated to the “Alegría” collection by Natalia Martínez, winner of the 2025 edition, as well as a special appearance by Isla Bonita Moda, a project promoted by the Cabildo of La Palma. With this event, Futur Adlib once again celebrated emerging talent, creativity, and artisanal fashion as the hallmarks of a runway show that continues to launch new names onto the national scene.
