Last January, Dubai Holding acquired the five-star Jumeirah Mallorca hotel, located in Sòller (Mallorca), in a deal that strengthens its presence in the Spanish hotel market.

The resort is perched on a cliff overlooking the port of Sóller, on the northwest coast of Mallorca, and offers panoramic views of both the Mediterranean Sea and the Tramuntana Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The property holds LEED Platinum environmental certification and features 121 guest rooms, four dining venues—including a poolside bar—a spa with a hydrotherapy pool, a fitness center, and four event rooms.

Following the acquisition, Dubai Holding has launched a major renovation of the Jumeirah Port Sóller resort, with an investment totaling 31 million euros. This is the largest hotel investment in the municipality since the resort itself was built and opened in April 2012.

The renovation will affect both guest rooms and common areas and includes demolition work to create a new layout for the complex’s interior spaces, with the aim of modernizing and repositioning this hotel, which is classified as a five-star luxury property.

Dubai Holding also plans to make further investments with the aim of positioning the hotel as one of Jumeirah’s flagship destinations in the Mediterranean region. The transaction is part of the group’s strategy to strengthen its hotel portfolio with high-quality properties in established locations.

“Jumeirah Mallorca embodies the exceptional standards and guest experience associated with both Dubai Holding Hospitality and Jumeirah,” said Amit Kaushal, CEO of Dubai Holding, at the time of the acquisition. According to him, the property meets the quality standards and guest experience associated with both Dubai Holding Hospitality and the Jumeirah brand.

With this transaction, Dubai Holding expands its portfolio to 34 hotels and resorts worldwide, including five Jumeirah properties in Europe.
