The temporary employment agency Randstad has estimated that the Black Friday and Cyber Monday campaign will lead to the hiring of just over 2,400 workers during this period, which represents a 4.1 percent increase compared to last year’s campaign. These are some of the forecasts published by Randstad for this period, in which the increase is expected to be mainly driven by the “continued momentum” of the retail sector and the sustained growth of the logistics sector, consolidating the “strong figures” recorded in the previous campaign.

The Balearic Islands show a positive trend, although slightly more moderate than the national average, which stands at 5.3 percent. “The Balearic Islands maintain a positive and stable trend heading into this shopping season, accounting for almost 2 percent of the total employment that will be generated across the country. This Black Friday, the archipelago will respond effectively to demand, driven by the strength of local commerce and the adaptability of the islands’ logistics sector, which reinforces the positive trend in consumer spending on the islands,” said Ana Hervás, Randstad’s Regional Director of Temporary Work for the Southern and Eastern regions.

Across Spain, this campaign, which will take place on November 27 and 30, is expected to generate around 124,300 new jobs in Spain this year, representing a 5.3 percent increase over the previous campaign, driven by the momentum in the retail sector and growth in the transport and logistics sector.

Transportation and logistics will account for the largest number of new hires, with around 79,170 contracts – 63.7 percent of the total – representing a 3.6 percent increase over the 76,417 recorded in 2025. Meanwhile, the retail sector will account for the remaining 36.3 percent, with around 45,130 new hires, an increase of 8.5 percent compared to the previous year.

By autonomous community, Madrid will lead recruitment, with 22,350 jobs – a 3.2 percent increase – followed by Catalonia, with 21,380 (+4.7 percent) and Andalusia (+7.8 percent). These three regions will account for more than half of the job opportunities expected for this hiring campaign.

The Most Requested Profiles

Logistics companies will expand their workforce to include sales assistants, packers, forklift operators, warehouse staff, and delivery drivers, as well as customer service personnel, to cope with the rise in e-commerce.

In the retail sector, companies will hire sales associates, sales promoters, and sales advisors, especially in sectors like technology, beauty, and food. According to Randstad, the rise of online shopping is not slowing hiring at brick-and-mortar stores, which are strengthening their teams to provide service and advice to customers.

The company notes that businesses prioritize hiring staff well in advance to train them on products, sales pitches, and procedures, as well as to ensure they are available during the busiest periods.

Additionally, companies are placing increasing value on the use of digital tools and support solutions for operational management, which allow them to resolve product and procedure inquiries quickly and independently in an environment that combines in-store and online shopping.
