The 112 Emergency Coordination Center has recorded a total of 410 incidents caused by Storm Adam in the Balearic Islands over the past few days.
As of 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 13 of these incidents remain active, all of them in Ibiza and Formentera and related to flooding in buildings, businesses, or on public roads.
In the Pitiusas Islands, the Inunbal Plan remains active at operational level two, while in Mallorca it is at level zero. The situation will be reassessed throughout Wednesday, according to a statement from the Regional Ministry of the Presidency, Coordination of Government Action, and Local Cooperation.
Although the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has indicated that this episode of heavy rain and storms is coming to an end, it has not yet completely subsided, and the yellow alert remains in effect across all the islands.
The Government’s Director General of Emergencies and Internal Affairs, Pablo Gárriz, visited the areas most affected by the storm in Ibiza on Tuesday.
He visited Sant Josep, Platja d’en Bossa, Ibiza, Santa Eulària, and Playa d’es Figueral, where he conveyed to local authorities the government’s commitment to assist and advise them “in every way possible.”
Gárriz plans to travel to Formentera on Wednesday to see firsthand the most severe damage suffered by the smaller of the Pitiusan islands.
To the situation as it stood late Tuesday, one must add a new development this Wednesday: the collapse of a retaining wall along the road to the port of Valldemossa (Ma-1131), which has forced the closure of the route to traffic.
According to information from the Mallorca Council’s Department of Roads, as consulted by Europa Press, the road will remain closed until repair work is completed.
