Fall kicks off in the Balearic Islands with one of the must-see events on the arts calendar. From October 1 to 4, the Magaluf Expanded Literature Festival (FLEM) celebrates its sixth edition, cementing Calvià’s status as an international hub for cultural tourism. This event, organized by the independent bookstore Rata Corner and the INNSiDE by Meliá hotel chain, will debut its official venue at the INNSiDE Wave Calvià hotel, a space that will bring together the biggest names in contemporary literature, music, and art.

More than just a gathering place for book lovers, the FLEM festival in Magaluf breaks down traditional barriers with its multidisciplinary format. Attendees looking for things to do in Mallorca in October will find a unique program ranging from literary events with authors such as Elísabet Benavent, Anna Todd, and David Foenkinos to highly anticipated concerts by Rodrigo Cuevas and Maria Hein. In addition, the hotel’s iconic Secret Rooms will be transformed into art installations by creators such as Boa Mistura and Lyona.

With the support of the Calvià City Council, the Council of Mallorca, and the Institut d’Estudis Baleàrics, Meliá Hotels International reaffirms its commitment to Magaluf’s development. Through initiatives such as the new FLEM Residency and the FLEM Magaluf Novel Prize (worth 10,000 euros), the festival not only enriches Mallorca’s cultural offerings but also fosters emerging talent and attracts a model of quality tourism to the Balearic Islands outside the peak season. Tickets and lodging options are now available for those who wish to enjoy this immersive experience in the heart of the Mallorcan coast.
