With the countdown to the start of the 44th Copa del Rey MAPFRE—the Mediterranean’s premier international sailing showcase—Nivia Hotel Collection, the luxury brand of the Garden Hotel Group, takes another step forward in its strategy of partnering with projects that embody excellence, leadership, and Mallorca’s international profile. The company is joining as an official sponsor of ELSA, the innovative XR41 led by Rodrigo Sanz, one of the boats poised to play a leading role in the competition.
The partnership brings together two projects that share the same vision of success: the constant pursuit of excellence, attention to every detail, innovation, teamwork, and the ambition to represent Mallorca on a stage with maximum international visibility.
The ELSA arrives at the Copa del Rey at one of the best moments of the season. In its competitive debut, it won the Sandberg PalmaVela 2026, confirming the XR41’s enormous potential and establishing itself ever since as one of the top contenders in the ORC B class. Now it faces the biggest challenge of the season with the goal of solidifying that performance against some of the world’s best crews.
One of the project’s greatest strengths is having Támara Echegoyen at the helm. An Olympic champion at the 2012 London Games, a four-time Olympian, and one of the leading figures in Spanish sailing, Echegoyen brings experience, leadership, and a proven ability to compete at the highest level in the most demanding conditions to the team.
Shared Values
For Nivia Hotel Collection, luxury hospitality goes beyond service, the brand emphasizes. It has built a concept based on Mediterranean authenticity, a personalized experience, and attention to detail that transforms every stay into a unique experience. That same philosophy defines Rodrigo Sanz’s sailing project. In elite competition, performance stems from preparation, trust among the crew, the ability to adapt, and the constant pursuit of improvement—values that are naturally reflected in the culture of Nivia Hotel Collection.

The Copa del Rey MAPFRE also provides a setting where sports, tourism, business, and international exposure come together. This makes the sponsorship a strategic platform for boosting the visibility of a brand that continues to strengthen its presence both within and outside Spain.
A project designed to compete for the title
The ELSA represents a new generation of high-performance yachts. Designed specifically to maximize its potential under ORC rules, the XR41 has demonstrated extraordinary competitiveness since its debut and is heading into the season’s biggest event with the ambition of competing for the win.
With the support of Nivia Hotel Collection, the project gains a partner that shares the same vision: to compete at the highest level to showcase Mallorca’s talent and image at one of the most internationally renowned sailing events.
