It was one of the videos of the summer. Filmed and shared on Instagram by Colombian content creator @fefimendozav, it shows Michael Jordan, David Beckham, and World Cup champions Ferran Torres and Marcos Llorente together at Cala Jondal, which was named “Beach Bar of the Year 2026” by Tapas magazine.
This impromptu gathering of sports legends has cost more than fans might expect, especially for the NBA star, whose Mediterranean summer has not been without its setbacks: Fifteen days before this video was recorded, his spectacular superyacht suffered an accident while maneuvering out of the port of Capri.
The incident in Italy—which occurred while the former Chicago Bulls player was sailing with his wife, Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto—resulted in only property damage after the boat struck the dock and part of the harbor railing. No one was injured, although it forced a temporary cancellation of the planned departure for Naples while the boat was inspected. With the scare behind him, Jordan has resumed his Mediterranean cruise and has once again chosen the Pitiusan Islands as his summer retreat, after visiting destinations this summer such as Marbella, Mallorca, Saint-Tropez, Sicily, Taormina, the Amalfi Coast, and Capri itself.
A floating palace worth around 100 million
The former player, a gold medalist at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and considered by many to be the greatest basketball player of all time, has anchored off Cala Jondal, one of Ibiza’s most exclusive spots, where business leaders, artists, and some of the world’s wealthiest people gather every summer. This isn’t the first time the American has chosen Ibiza to unwind: the island has become one of his regular stops during his European vacations, and he was previously spotted on the island in June 2024.
The real star of this vacation is, once again, the M’Brace, the spectacular 74-meter superyacht that Jordan purchased in 2022 (sources estimate its price at between $98 million and $115 million). Built by the prestigious German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen, originally for British businessman Lloyd Dorfman under the name “Elandess,” it is considered a true floating mansion: it accommodates 12 guests, has a crew of 24, and its annual maintenance costs are around $10 million.
With a beam of 12.8 meters, a gross tonnage of 2,065 GT, and the ability to reach 16 knots thanks to its two Caterpillar engines, the M’Brace was designed by Harrison Eidsgaard and won four awards at the 2018 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards. Among its most unique features are the Neptune Lounge—an underwater observation room below the waterline—a pool on the sun deck, a helipad, a garage for tenders, underwater lighting, and an outdoor bar.
Two superyachts and nearly 200 million in the water
The M’Brace isn’t the former player’s only nautical indulgence. Jordan also owns the Joy, another superyacht valued at $80 million, built in 2016 by the Feadship shipyard. With five decks featuring a contemporary design by Studio Indigo, it stands out for its expansive glass surfaces, gym, private movie theater, jacuzzi, and a bow deck converted into a basketball court that connects directly to the master suite. The Joy has been recognized with awards such as Best Displacement Motor Yacht at the 2017 World Superyacht Awards and Best Exterior Design and Style at the ShowBoats Design Awards that same year.
Between the two yachts, Jordan owns a private nautical collection valued at nearly $200 million—in addition to a customized Gulfstream private jet—one of the most exclusive on the international scene.
