The Manacor Racetrack hosted the presentation of the official poster and the drawing of the race numbers for the horses that will participate in the 2026 Manacor Grand Prix, one of the most important events in Mallorcan trotting, which will be held on June 14 at the racetrack.
This marked the start of the 68th edition of the Grand Prix at an event attended by the second vice president and island councilor for Environment, Agriculture, and Sports, Pedro Bestard; the president of the Balearic Trotting Federation, Juan Antonio Rosselló, and the president of the Mallorca Equestrian Sports Institute (IEHM), Gaspar Oliver, accompanied by the owners of the participating horses, as well as by representatives of clubs, trotting associations, and numerous fans.
During the event, Councilor Bestard highlighted the importance of this race for the horse racing sector in Mallorca as a whole. "The Manacor Grand Prix is one of the most important sporting events on our calendar and a testament to the passion, hard work, and dedication behind the world of trotting in Mallorca," he said.
Bestard also highlighted the Mallorca Council's commitment to this sport. "We continue to work to promote and raise the visibility of a sport that is part of our identity and our sporting heritage. Trotting races are a living tradition that deserves our full support," the councilor added, highlighting that events like the Manacor Grand Prix help to promote the horse racing sector in Mallorca and to recognize the work that owners, breeders, trainers, and drivers do throughout the year.
Track Improvements
During the presentation, the recent improvements made to the track at the Manacor Racecourse were unveiled. The work has consisted mainly of repairs and renovations to correct some irregularities in the track's layout and improve its conditions, with the goal of ensuring greater safety for both the participants and the proper development of the races.
As part of the preparations for the big race, the official event poster, designed by Roberto Lanata, was unveiled, and the official program for the 2026 Manacor Grand Prix was also presented. The event will take place on the weekend of June 13 and 14 and will include various races and activities for fans.
The main race will take place on Sunday, June 14, with the Grand Prix, which will start at 7:00 PM. The event will bring together the best three-year-old fillies of the N Generation, most of which are the same horses that recently competed in the National Grand Prix.
The event will once again bring together the leading figures from the world of trotting for a day marked by sport, tradition, and a passion for the discipline.
