The "Nits de Bellver" concert series will kick off its third edition next Wednesday with a performance by Belén Aguilera in the parade ground of Bellver Castle.

According to a statement released by the Palma City Council, the program will run through August 29 and will feature classical music, jazz, opera, dance, and popular music at one of the city’s premier summer cultural venues.

Among the first highlights is a performance by pianist Antoni Kleczec, scheduled for July 7 and the result of a collaboration agreement between the City Council and the Fryderyk Chopin National Institute in Warsaw. On July 14, it will be time for 'Debon canta Suau,' a show starring Pau Debon, Antoni Bujosa, and Pere Suau as part of the 'Cançons de la Mediterrània'series.

The program continues on July 17 with a performance by singer Francisco and on July 23 with a production of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Rigoletto” by the Ópera Garage company. Five days later, on July 28, Geometrical Sardine will perform—a Mallorcan progressive jazz trio consisting of Jaume Rosselló, Joan Roca, and Pep Aspas.

In August, the series will feature the Ballarins Mallorquins Dance Gala, scheduled for the 11th and starring dancers from the island who are pursuing professional careers with international companies.

Later, on August 14, Sonsdenit 2026 will take the stage, led by Scottish artist Emma Pollock, while on August 22, the Harlem Gospel Travellers will perform, a group that blends traditional gospel with influences from soul and blues.

The closing event will be presented by the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra with a tribute concert to composer Gustav Mahler scheduled for late August.

In addition, the program will feature a prominent role for the Palma Municipal Band, which this year celebrates the 60th anniversary of its founding, with performances such as “Epidèmia silenciosa, dedicated to researchers, healthcare professionals, and patients affected by Alzheimer’s; a new edition of the 'Danses Frenètiques' and the 'Nit de Sarsuela,' which will bring together tenor Josep Bros, soprano Maia Planas, and baritone Pablo López.

The Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra will also participate in various concerts alongside the Marcel Cranc Ensemble, the Women’s Choir of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), Acadèmia 1830, and the Mallorca Chamber Orchestra.

During the presentation of the series, held this Friday in the courtyard of Bellver Castle, Palma City Council’s Culture Councilor, Javier Bonet, stated that the initiative aims to transform Palma into “one of the great cultural capitals of the Mediterranean” and to establish the fortress as the city’s “epicenter of cultural activity.”
