The plenary hall of the Consell de Mallorca will host four concerts from June 5 to 27

The Consell de Mallorca has organized a series of four concerts in the plenary hall of the Palau del Consell, from June 5 to 27.

The "Concerts a Palau" series has selected four groups that will perform a "broad and diverse" repertoire, ranging from classical music to pop and rock, including a choral concert and a fusion of traditional Mallorcan music and jazz, according to a statement from the island’s government.

The performance kicking off the series on June 5 will feature the Van Roy-Roig Duo, composed of Mallorcan soprano Cristina Van Roy and pianist Joan Roig, with a repertoire of classical works and lieder by composers such as Chopin, Grieg, and Orfila, as well as contemporary pieces.

The Margarettes will take the stage on June 14. The trio—comprising Nick Lore (vocals and guitar), Jaume Llodrà (bass), and Àngel Ríos (drums)—stands out for its “versatile” and multilingual repertoire, featuring songs in Catalan, Spanish, and English that blend pop and rock hits from different eras.

The third concert will take place on June 21 with a performance by Ovella Negra, a musical project that fuses traditional Mallorcan music with jazz. An innovative project that combines tradition and modernity.

The Montlliri Choir will close the series on June 27. The Montuïri vocal ensemble, composed of 52 singers and directed by Maria Magdalena Oliver, was founded in 1910 with the aim of sharing, enjoying, and promoting music in all its forms.
