The Council of Mallorca has allocated 60,000 euros to the Coll Bardolet Cultural Foundation for 2026, an increase of €20,000 from last year’s figure, with the aim of preserving and promoting the legacy of the painter born in Valldemossa.
The foundation’s board meeting was held this Friday, where the annual accounts were approved and attended by the Island Councilor for Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca.
“This allocation reflects the desire to preserve an artistic legacy that is part of Mallorca’s cultural identity and to keep alive a space for creation, participation, and knowledge linked to the artist, a key figure in 20th-century Mallorcan art,” said Roca.
The councilor, according to a statement issued by the island institution, also noted that Valldemossa and the Serra de Tramuntana have historically been a source of inspiration for creators from all over the world.
Coll Bardolet, she added, knew how to capture “like few others” the light, the landscape, and the essence of this “privileged” environment. “Supporting the Foundation also means ensuring that its legacy endures for future generations,” she maintained.
