Yamaha expands its V6 Commercial lineup with new outboard motors

The new 200- and 250-horsepower models join Yamaha's V6 Commercial lineup, which is now available in three power ratings.

Yamaha is expanding its V6 Commercial line of outboard motors with two new models rated at 200 and 250 hp, designed for heavy-duty professional use. The brand is thus reinforcing its commitment to robust, efficient solutions tailored for long operating hours in real-world environments.

V6 Platform: Proven reliability for professional use

The expansion of the product line is based on Yamaha’s renowned V6 platform, a mechanical architecture designed to deliver consistent performance under sustained load conditions. These new models have been specifically tuned to meet the demands of the professional sector, where operational continuity and reliability are critical factors.

Designed for long workdays, these engines ensure consistent power delivery even in variable conditions, such as port operations, passenger transport, or intensive fishing activities.

Advanced electronic control as standard

One of the cornerstones of this new line is the inclusion of Digital Electronic Control (DEC) in all models. This system provides precise and immediate response during both acceleration and maneuvering, enhancing the user experience and reducing operator fatigue.

In addition, compatibility with advanced control systems such as Helm Master® EX enables the integration of more sophisticated navigation and maneuvering solutions, adapting to specific configurations based on the type of vessel and mission.

All commercial models come standard with the Digital Electronic Control (DEC) system, which ensures smooth and precise throttle and gear response. In addition, its compatibility with Yamaha’s digital systems and Helm Master EX allows for more flexible control and rigging configurations.

Designed to withstand demanding environments

Durability has been a key focus in the development of this V6 Commercial range. The engines feature reinforced internal components, optimized injection systems, and integrated diagnostic tools that ensure reliable day-to-day operation.

Features such as freshwater washing systems and the use of highly corrosion-resistant materials help extend the engine’s service life, even in harsh marine conditions. In addition, the design facilitates access for maintenance tasks, reducing downtime and operating costs.

The new Yamaha outboard motors are designed to meet a wide range of professional applications, including workboats, patrol boats, water taxis, and fishing boats. In this regard, they stand out for their high-capacity alternators, which are capable of providing a steady power supply to onboard electronic systems, instrumentation, and auxiliary equipment during long days of operation.
