Nautor Swan returns to the competitive 22-meter segment with the Swan 73, a yacht that embodies six decades of naval expertise in a design that strikes a balance between performance, elegance, and contemporary livability. Designed for discerning owners, this model redefines the concept of the modern cruiser-racer.
With the launch of the Swan 73, Nautor Swan marks its long-awaited return to a key length category in the luxury sailing yacht market. Positioned just below the maxi segment, this model offers levels of comfort comparable to larger yachts, but with a clear advantage in terms of ease of handling and operational versatility.
Built at the Boatbuilding Technology Centre (BTC) in Pietarsaari, Finland, the new Swan upholds the quality standards that have historically defined the shipyard. This project also reflects the new strategy spearheaded by Sanlorenzo, in which the product development division plays a central role in the brand’s evolution.
The result is a boat capable of switching between the pleasure of relaxed cruising at anchor and pure sailing performance, reaching speeds of over 20 knots when conditions permit.

Precision and performance by Germán Frers
The naval design is the work of Germán Frers, a key figure in shaping Swan’s identity for more than four decades. On the Swan 73, his approach is reflected in sleek hull lines, balanced proportions, and precise dynamic performance.
The boat is constructed using vinylester-infused fiberglass laminate, featuring a sandwich-type structure and localized carbon fiber reinforcements in both the hull and deck. This method ensures an optimal balance between structural rigidity and weight, enhancing performance and durability.
The sail plan has been optimized to ensure a responsive and controlled performance in a variety of sailing conditions, offering an intuitive and confident steering feel for both ocean crossings and recreational sailing.

Aesthetic and functional evolution
The exterior design, developed in collaboration with Luca Ardizio Design, follows an evolutionary philosophy that respects Swan’s classic identity while incorporating contemporary solutions.
The deck layout is clear and efficient, designed to make maneuvering easy even with a small crew. Notable features include the inboard entrance, the asymmetrical cockpit, and the clean integration of the working rigging.
The deck space is divided into four distinct areas. At the bow, there is a relaxation area with the option of a canopy; in the center, the guest cockpit, designed as a sheltered space that connects the interior and exterior; at the stern, the helm station with dual wheels and optimized controls; and finally, a swim platform with a beach club and a garage for a tender up to 2.80 meters in length.
One of the most notable innovations is the optional hardtop on the central deck, which allows the space to be transformed into a panoramic terrace or a fully enclosed, climate-controlled lounge, expanding the boat’s usability in a variety of weather conditions.

A contemporary reinterpretation of the Swan DNA
The interior design, created by Blend Studio, represents an evolution of the brand’s classic design language toward a more fluid and contemporary aesthetic.
Curved lines, smooth transitions, and a harmonious layout define a space where functionality is combined with a careful selection of materials. Decorative options include Swan’s signature designs, alongside a new, warmer style that features Canaletto walnut and light-colored fabrics.
The interior layout offers remarkable flexibility, with options for three or four cabins, as well as a separate crew quarters. In the forward section, the owner can choose to expand the bathroom or incorporate a walk-in closet, maximizing comfort and privacy.
The result is a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere, where nautical tradition meets a contemporary sensibility.
A key model for Swan’s 60th anniversary
The Swan 73 is part of a series of launches commemorating the brand’s 60th anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2026. Currently under construction in Finland, this model, scheduled to be launched in 2027, represents a milestone in Nautor Swan’s recent evolution and a statement of intent: to continue leading the high-performance sailing yacht segment with a concept that integrates innovation, design, and construction excellence.
