Forbes Travel List | Spain's 50 Luxury Travel Leaders 2026

As a prominent player in the tourism industry, Spain is also establishing itself as one of the world’s leading destinations for luxury tourism: we have selected the 50 key figures who make it possible.

Spain is in vogue: this season, in 2026, the number of tourists visiting the country is finally expected to exceed 100 million. Within this record figure, a minority segment—around 3%, according to various studies—travels specifically to enjoy high-end offerings in hotels, restaurants, culture, events, and shopping.

This refers to international luxury tourism, a niche market that, while representing only a small proportion of travelers, accounts for up to 20% of spending in strategic sectors such as fashion, jewelry, watchmaking, leather goods, and exclusive experiences. The significant economic impact of this group is reflected in their average spending, which exceeds €6,000 per stay, more than four times that of the average tourist. Domestic tourists aren’t far behind either: this type of trip accounts for only 0.1% of all trips taken by residents, but their average spending reaches €3,343 per trip (Luxury Barometer).

As a result, the luxury traveler has become the most coveted segment of our industry. To this end, a spectacular transformation has taken place in recent years—accelerated by the pandemic—that is establishing our country as a destination on the luxury tourism map, and which should continue to grow thanks to the talent, commitment, hard work, and vision of the 50 leaders we highlight here at Forbes Travel.
