Ibiza aspires to be much more than a summer destination. Health, wellness, and experiences linked to a conscious lifestyle are becoming increasingly important in the island’s tourism strategy, and the Ibiza Wellness Weekend has become one of the showcases for this transformation. Its seventh edition, held last weekend, attracted more than 1,000 participants to a series of activities and, once again, its main events were fully booked.
The event brought together more than 30 local and national professionals and talents, featured 25 collaborators, and attracted 12 national media outlets. One of the most significant findings for the tourism sector is that approximately half of the attendees were visitors from outside the island, which points to an interest in experiences that combine relaxation, self-care, and exploration of the region.
Far from focusing on a single discipline, the festival offered a wide-ranging program: from physical exercise and meditation to emotional education, healthy eating, art, and outdoor activities. This approach reflects the evolution of the concept of well-being and its growing link with the tourist experience.
From fitness to emotional intelligence
The program featured well-known figures from various fields, including coach Crys Dyaz, chef and presenter Samanta Vallejo-Nágera, emotional education specialist Elsa Punset, and actor and presenter Joaquín Caserza.
The Grand Masterclass, held at the Ibiza Conference Center, was one of the highlights, with 450 attendees. The event combined humor, personal development, emotional awareness, and breathing techniques, with contributions from Punset, Caserza, Paco de la Fuente, Lex Empress, and the team from The Breath Act®, in a session moderated by actress Tita Planells.
The proposal highlights how the concept of well-being has expanded its scope. Interest is no longer limited to physical activity or traditional relaxation practices: it also includes emotional management, connection with the body, and the search for tools to cope with the pace of modern life.
Along the same lines, the breathing and neuroscience workshop led by Marta Planells, based in Ibiza, together with Juan D’Angelo of The Breath Act®, and the show Rebirth by Paco de la Fuente and Lex Empress, enriched the program with formats that combine learning, artistic expression, and personal development.

Nature, gastronomy, and local culture as part of the tourist appeal
One of the key features of this year’s event was the inclusion of activities in various locations on the island. On Saturday, Juntos Farm hosted an outdoor event with market gardening workshops, incense and pickled cucumber making, farm tours, and tastings of the farm’s own produce. Electric bike tours, Mehari-style electric vehicle rides, and mindful walks were also organized.
The proposal linked well-being with the natural environment and local production, two elements that can help diversify the tourist experience in Ibiza and strengthen the bond between visitors and the region.
Culture has also played a prominent role since the opening ceremony, which was held with the support of the Sant Joan de Labritja Town Hall. The theatrical show ‘Tanit’, organized by the Tanit Goddess Association of Ibiza, brought together more than 150 people to celebrate the island’s history and heritage, with theatrical and musical performances, the Ball Pagès, and a tasting of traditional products.
Gastronomy once again played a prominent role in the program, with Samanta Vallejo-Nágera participating in a session dedicated to the relationship between nutrition and health. This approach reflects a vision of well-being that incorporates daily habits, culinary culture, and an understanding of local products, as well as physical activity.
The hotel as a wellness environment
Sunday’s events also highlighted the importance of hotels in creating experiences tied to wellness tourism. Due to the weather conditions, the activities originally scheduled at Ca Na Xica had to be moved to BLESS Ibiza The Site, where more than 200 attendees took part in the various sessions.
The program included Pilates, fitness, yoga, a talk on gastronomy and health, and a roundtable discussion on female entrepreneurship in regenerative projects. The day concluded with a session of meditation, music, and dance led by Suco® and a concert of organic folk music by Sandra Bernardo.
The collaboration between the festival and various tourist establishments demonstrates how hotels can serve as spaces for experiences that go beyond mere overnight stays, especially when they incorporate activities focused on health, gastronomy, culture, and connection with the local environment.

A market that brings together well-being, beauty, and conscious consumption
The Wellness Market closed out the program with brands and projects related to beauty, cosmetics, food, supplements, fashion, and self-care practices. Participants included Dala Beauty, Blosse Cosmetics, GLOW – The Hormone University, Caraibi, and Soul Club, along with ceramic artworks and audiovisual installations.
The festival also included two yoga and personal development retreats at the Ca Na Xica agritourism center, led by Paula Dolcet and Sandra Bernardo, which attracted 22 participants. For the next edition, the organizers are planning a collaboration with Retreat Yourself, an international retreat project from South Africa, with the aim of attracting more visitors.
This development expands the scope of the event: in addition to the activities open to the public, the retreats offer a longer-term experience, with accommodation and a specific program. This format can help extend visitor stays and create new opportunities for specialized tourism, although its economic impact will need to be evaluated with specific data.
Ibiza and the challenge of diversifying its tourism model
Organized by the Council of Ibiza and its Health and Wellness Tourism Club, Ibiza Health & Beauty, the event is funded by the Council of Ibiza and supported by the municipalities of Santa Eulària des Riu and Sant Joan de Labritja, as well as receiving the collaboration of local companies, hotels, and organizations.
The event is part of an initiative to elevate the image of an Ibiza associated with healthy lifestyles, outdoor sports, the Mediterranean diet, culture, and sustainability. Its nonprofit nature also reflects the desire to collectively promote the destination.
Attendance figures confirm the festival’s ability to attract a broad audience and bring together professionals from different disciplines. The next step to consolidate its importance for tourism is to translate this interest into measurable results: attracting visitors during periods of lower demand, encouraging longer stays, and generating business for local companies and professionals.
In a destination internationally associated with leisure and high season, wellness offers a complementary narrative: an Ibiza that can be discovered through nature, gastronomy, culture, and self-care. The Ibiza Wellness Weekend aims to turn this vision into a recognizable experience and, in doing so, help diversify the island’s tourism offering.
